We decided early on when placing our order for a brand new CO2 Laser that we needed to deal with the fumes when using the laser cutter/engraver. We chatted via Alibaba to our Leapion representative and were encouraged by the offer of a brand new filter extractor unit compatible with the CO2 laser we had ordered.
We wanted to clarify the specification and asked if some picture could be sent and confirmation of the specification. Dealing with the Leapion representative was a little bit of a challenge since English is obviously not their first language and sometimes things are lost in translation.
Images were sent to us and I must say that for the price the specification seemed excellent value for money.
The above photo shows the extractor we had been offered. Interesting to note the clean lines of the unit and the three key locks to give easy access to the insides of the machine. Also, seeing the various signage labels and stickers implied this was a new machine built to 'purify smoke'
Again this is the rear view of the machine and all looked good to us so we asked for a formal quotation and proceeded with the order. We obviously requested that this extractor be shipped at the same time as the laser.
Some of the information above has been redacted since our upset is not with an individual employee but with the company Shandong Leapion Machinery Co., Ltd, who have been dishonest in describing goods to be sold to us and when notified we were unhappy with the extractor supplied refused to acknowledge the problems or offer a resolution.
So what was supplied was not as pictured or described in the order.
Update April 2022: Despite our best efforts to make use of this filter box, we have concluded for the size of our machine, this filtration system is now fit for purpose. We have decided for our own peace of mind and health, and safety to invest in the UK made BOFA system. This is now on order.
Honestly, So frustrating we were sold such an unfit for purpose unit.
